Talk to attendees, exhibitors, or sponsors at your booth, event sessions, or networking areas. Use the official event app or platform to connect, schedule meetings, and swap info. Hold 1:1 meetings in the event’s designated zones (meeting rooms, pods, or lounges provided by organizers). Follow up after the event using leads/contact info you gathered through official channels. Market your business through the event’s sponsorships, signage, or approved promotions.

Approach attendees in hallways, hotels, bars, or outside the venue to pitch your product/service. Host unofficial side events, dinners, or meetings that compete with the event without organizer approval. Collect leads or customer info outside of the event’s tech/platform (e.g., scraping attendee lists, doing your own badge scans). Send mass unsolicited messages/emails to attendees you didn’t meet through official event channels. Try to circumvent the organizer’s system (e.g., selling directly without a booth, running promotions without paying sponsorship fees).
